Today's "Jem" Of A Quote

From the first issue of Jem "A Treasure Chest of Rare Spice" Magazine, November, 1956 (a vintage men's magazine), comes this "Daffy Dictionary" entry:

Rape (rāp), n. Poor salesmanship.

I'm speechless. "Daffy" or not, this just blows my mind.

Thank you for posting this.

On one hand, if this was speaking to marketing professionals it would be a 'good thing' because then professionals would see that forcing product on someone is a form of violence. Then it's rather wise.

But...

It's in a men's magazine (albiet a vintage one), so it's not exactly ~ or intentionally ~ aimed at marketing folks. So, on the other hand, this leaves a bad taste, doesn't it.

Nice to know someone's reading and thinking here, so thanks again Amanda :)
