Affiliate Leads

SLA (Sensual Liberation Army) has a guide to adult affiliate programs for bloggers and webmasters. As they say:
Deciding which affiliates are for you isn't always easy. Everybody has a different niche, a different audience. You also have to decide what your own aesthetic is, and decide what you can sell in good conscience. Some of our favorite sites make us no money at all. We can't tell you what your aesthetic is, but we can tell you what generally sells well for us.
So you'll need to decide what works for you, but if you've been looking for some ideas, it's a good start.

affiliates are a way for online marketers to make money. i can't think of a better scam. a blogger or webmaster will never know their true sales, and they are never compensated for the amount of through traffic they generate. it's free advertizing for a marketer who saves money advertizing. they don't have to pay the blogger anything, while making the bloggers think that they can possibly earn a decent amount of money.

In the four years I have been online, in a webmaster capacity, I have never seen anything like it, and small companies are rife with scams.

Hello anonymous.

There are many affiliate programs which are unethical. I'll not deny that. But not all affiliate programs (or managers of them) are about scamming anyone. As proof, there are many webmasters/bloggers who are making nice money with affiliate programs. One needs to evaluate each progam on its own, both in terms of the company and the niche.

However, let's also look at affiliate programs and sales/marketing et all as they are on the Internet as new things. New media means new ways of learning to make a buck and all the methods, pay per click, keyword bidding, pay per blog post, banner advertising, and even ecommerce itself is all still in the experimental stages.

Trying to find the balance here, the way to provide incentives to bloggers and webmasters as one courts consumers, is hardly been established. Which is why I say, with all do respect, there really are no Internet experts in this sense. It's too new.

I've got more to say on this, but it really should be a post of it's own. I'll get to this issue as soon as I can. I hope you'll come back to see it. :)

I agree some of these are a scam. But others aren't. However, I don't care if I ever make a penny off my affiliates. I use the FHGs to get people to some of my sites. And while I have ample links to those whose photos I use, I also get several people going from my blogs to my book sales site and that is what I am really after.

So yes, they use me, and I use them. It is a symbiotic relationship.
