Dude, What's Up With Joyscape?
In reality, the site is not gone. Don't get me wrong, it's got some issues as most of the pages are "connection refused" but you can still search images and movies, as media.joyscape.com is still functioning. (Just not a damn bit of help for the blogs and bloggers.)
So, searchers, now you know. Well, you now know all that I know anyway.
If you want a giggle, check out a non-adult blogger's response to her traffic from those searching for info on Joyscape's problems: Welcome Joyscape Surfers. Now go home. (And while you're there, check out her blog, Blue Gal, as she's actually quite interesting to read.)

And here I was thinking my traffic was down because I wasn't updating. Imagine the blow to my ego when I realized it wasn't all about me.
Seems like it is gone:

LOL Neither this blog nor my other sites are listed at Joysacpe, so I had not noticed. However, being quite religious about my stats, I noticed the phenomenon the folks in the emails were talking about.
Oops, Viviane, you must have hit 'publish' just before I did because your post wasn't there when I made my comment. ;)
I'd heard a rumor they were hacked or attacked... In any event, seems odd they would change the domain name and not try to salvage the existing site.
They must have sent some decent traffic because folks are making noise...
Yes Gracie, decent traffic. Between 50-250 hits a day for me. I suppose if they don't get whatever their issue is fixed, another site will pop up in its place sooner or later.
Sarah (and others), try the link Viviane posted (here) for more info.
I don't know what percentage of your traffic that number is, but most of us would notice that drop ;)
Well to answer the Question in your topic, what is going on with joyscape.com
The partners in joyscape.com have a disagreement on what to do with the blog section of their site, meaning that blogging @joyscape.com took a reasonable amount of traffic, and server resources. One of the partner literally told me "that bloggers are selvish, putting up a lot of ads and partner progams for themselves but nothing for joyscape.com"
He also said that joyscap in it old form (read with blogs) is not coming back, that is the reason joy-scape.com is truly dedicated to blogs, and adult blogs in special.
Telecomfreakz, thanks for the information. :)
I'm a bit confused though, as this seems to be all about blog hosting and nothing about the blog directory...
Also, at the new site, many of the links are broken. I realize they are new, but it's hard to find any information because of their problems.
well de blog directory is for the time being only accessible through http://directory.joy-scape.com
It is fully automated and is spidering rss feeds from blogs.
