The Stripper's Sales Secret

From Flaunting your fertility makes for big tips. The showgirl's guide to maximizing income:
if you're a woman in any service-industry job looking to maximize your tips, Miller suggests scheduling more shifts for the phase right before ovulation: "It might help to know about this so that you can exploit these effects."
Fascinating.

Also makes me wonder why they did this study...

They did the study because...men are fascinated by periods?

It is something I've wondered about. However, I doubt my cycles have any effect on my online marketing efforts -- except for those days when I want to flame everyone. ;)

Cute, Amanda ;)

One thing I know, from basic biology and further study of it, is that we are animals. So the study findings do not surprise me. However, they didn't say much about how this really converts from a place of business where the sales are made on the sales person as a commodity vs. sales in general.

Certainly a more 'ripe' woman will be just the thing a sexually hungry male tipper is willing to part cash with. But what about a female car sales person trying to sell Dave a Ford? Yes, her more fun personality may keep Dave interested in buying from her, but what if Dave is put off by something too personal in her nature? And what if Dave brings his wife ~ and she notices some 'energy' between the female sales staff and her husband?

In general, being more friendly is a god thing. But the study doesn't discuss how the hormones can affect other categories of sales. Nor the reason for the lower tipping in other parts of the cycle.

Also, and this is related, I swear, men cycle each day ~ with mornings bringing them a heafty supply of testosterone (hello, morning wood!) which many say means men should neither make big decisions in the morning (because the testosterone may make them feel more certain, but it's not well thought out) nor should they do things like mediation (as the male hormone will make them less flexible and willing to comprimise ~ so don't show this to a man in the morning, he'll argue it! lol). But I've yet to see any study on how male hormones affect their sales performance...

Let alone their performance as politicians etc.
